As a newcomer to N--, I cant help but notice that the de--th of this blog happened soon after my arriv--l... were these events related at all? Ill leave this thought with you, as it has been plauging my mind for a good few da-- -ow.

I suppose it doesnt ma--er... I suppose what we need to look to is the f---re, what happens once order has g--e, I suspect random b---s from all DJs will ju-- pop up everywhere, lacking the structure to actually go anywhere. We n--ded NSR, but now its good as g--e.

TRT -RO--CAS-_05 [ T-E -AST P-ST ]

[Note: A signal booster has been set up to bring you this message free of static.]

This, gentlemen, ladies, is my last post.

I have had fun with NSR, and while I do not agree with the decision of DJ Needles, it is his decision to make, and I respect and agree with Nathan's choice to end the blog like this instead of just letting it fade and die slowly and painfully.

Thus, this is my last broadcast to you all... and it was a good crowd. A reasonable number of you actually watch this blog, which I'm pleased by, and the 2400 hits we've got in less than a term is also somewhat testament to what we have done.

So I am James Telfer, WebDisc Jockey Trigon and Tech Blogger, signing out for good. There's no next post this time.

Thankyou all for your support, comments and talk for the duration.

Remember
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember
When your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
Just remember me

I am the one star that keeps burning so brightly
It is the last light to fade into the rising sun
I’m with you whenever you tell my story
For I am all I’ve done

Remember
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory,
remember me

[Warning. Signal loss occurring. Compensating now]

I am that warm voice in the cold wind that whispers
And if you listen you’ll hear me call across the sky
As long as I still can reach out and touch you
Then I will never die

Remember
I’ll never leave you
If you will only
Remember me
(Remember me)

[Static increasing. Booster unable to compensate, signal losing strength]

I will still be here
As lon- as you ho-d me

SOL BR--DCAST_09 [ R--LY ]

FINE READERS, I come before you as a humble DJ but my words could not be for a mightier cause, in the context of this blog.

Recommended Listening: All Along the Watchtower, there are many versions all are great.

The Admin of this great blog we h--e is DJ Needl--, he has decided that because he is sick of the blog, we are all sick of the blog. As is seen by his most recent announcement, he is waiting until Thursday Afternoon to fully delete the blog. He believes this to be the end of NSR as do many of you and to an extent, this is the truth. I hear your cries as to what my meaning is, but although it is no master stro-- of genius, I have archived every single p-st of this blog. As I said, this is no blow to the Admin, but it is a--tart. From the death of this Blog s--ll arise new bl-gs, the DJ's will go on ---haps to other bl-gs, but no more will NSR be. I have accepted the death of the blog, but that does not mean you have to. We installed a Talk-Box for a reason, so you can talk. So gentle readers I urge.. no compell you to voice your opinion in the T--k-Box, show Nee--es that his judgement is clouded by emotions rather than us--g reasoning. NSR BROADCAST_12 [ POWER STRUCTURE ]

DJ Needles swooping in through the shadows, shining out to bring you another night's entertainment once again.

Recommended Listening: Late of The Pier

I'll get the 'non-post' part of the blog out of the way first...

sorry for not posting as often as had once been possible, but i do have a legitimate excuse, firstly there has not been much to post about, and other people had taken the few possible subjects and posted about them already. So, i decided to not blog at all, rather than go through another complete 'non-post' and leave you unsatisfied.

Well, as i said just then, there hasn't been much to post about, and that's still true, with people ignoring their set subjects on this blog and posting about whatever they feel like... but hopefully everything will go back to the way it should be soon.

Not much has been happening socially around school or the surrounding territories, but there has been some interesting news coming over from Iran which you should of heard about...

well, i'll give you the backstory to these protests:

the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held a Presidenial election on a recent weekend, and supporters of the opposition, a large chunk of the population, have claimed that it was rigged and are demanding a re-election and an inquiry into the first one. And who can blame them, when the president won with 63% of the votes, all which were apparently counted within an hour of closing the polls...

Most of the protestors are under 25, and the riots mainly consist of students, so there are currently a lot of very angry ruffians protesting in the streets in Iran's capital, Tehran. As soon as the protests started news reporters flocked in from around the globe, but they were sent out of the country quite urgently, seems like the president doesn't want the world to see what his next move is.

But, technology prevails as usual, and the young, tech-savvy students protesting in the streets have used their knowledge to show the world what is happening through phone-recorded youtube videos and twitter has become like a military radion, with protests being planned, but this soon slowed down with claims that the military was using it to set fake, trap protests.

There have been some videos showing the violence by military personell, and there have been some deaths, including three uni-students, shot dead by police who stormed a university...

Hopefully the measures pulled by the government won't be too drastic, but you never know...

Well, This is DJ Needles signing out, dimming down and leaving you all alone, with an ever-expanding pool of information which we lovingly call the 'internet', you should try to learn something from it, like how to tie-dye, or fire-proof a blanket, you never know when tie-dye-ing could save your life...

TRT BROADCAST_05 [ ITS A MASHUP ]

I have been asked to post, so here it is, a post.

Listen to this: On The Floor, Spitalfield.

My first list item today is a game, a reasonably old one, called Homeworld 2.
My initial assessment of the game: Well, you can move units in 3d, it might be cool.

And that really is the big thing going for it. It's actually really cool. When you click to move a unit, it comes up with a disc representing the current plane of the unit, and you hold a key to move the move target on the vertical axis. It has hyperspace jumps inside multiplayer games, which is pretty awesome too, you can jump the enemy and launch 25 bombers at their mothership.

Actually, don't use bombers. They get eaten up. The game is rather simplistic at first look actually, with only 4 classes: Fighter, Corvette, Frigate and Capital. But when you get down to it, it rises above the one problem I have had with pretty much all other RTS games I have played: It does not have identical units for both sides. In other games you get your basic infantry, your anti-infantry, your anti-tank infantry, etc. etc. In this game, it is different. There is a loose classification, but different units fill the slots. The Vagyr have an extra anti-capital Lance Fighter, and a couple of extra corvettes. The Hiigarans, on the other hand, have a larger frigate selection to choose from, some of which kick ass if I may say so.

Unfortunately, the best frigates in the universe won't really help when I jump 14 of the biggest combat ships in the game within spitting distance (this is a space battle, remember, so that's a VERY small distance) of your mothership and right-click...

Then sit back and watch the orange, bright, explosmy fireworks.

That's all I have to say on that. My next item, as it stands, is the Year 10 Play.

You should all be coming to see it. It's pure overstated slapstick genius in a can, except not in a can.

And there's very little to say about that either... Without ruining anything, that is.

Just come and see it.

This sentence marks the third consecutive day that I have been writing this post for. I really don't have much time at the moment.

A couple of pieces of perhaps (or perhaps not) interesting information for everyone:
The lack of Valkyrie updates is because I am now testing it heavily. And I think it's going well.

Hmmmm, is there anything else I can say? I don't think so.

Apart from the unnecessary point that my father is here for the first time this year from America, and that's why I've had a couple of days off school. And why I'm constantly ignoring you on MSN :D

That post took 4 days to write. And it still tells you nothing...

Trigon.

SOL BROADCAST_08 [ TALES ]

Gooood Evenin' fine readers here is DJ Jwol  ridin' Boris right into ya brains...

Recommended Listening : All U Can Eat by Ben Folds

This is going to sound insanely arrogant but I don't really care (so I will argue about it for a while, just for fun) but I am going to post about my FANtastic Saturday I have just had. Lets set the scene shall we? It was saturday morning, the birds were chirpin' it up and I was awake, it's 6:46 am. I get up and have breakfast then solitaire it up.
It's 10:31 am, I am leaving for soccer, we win, janey and others are there, swearing and whatnot.
It's 12:34 pm i'm in the car going to hornsby to get some things for the 16th I have tonight.
It's 12:59 pm I have grabbed my things and have decided to grab a coffee then go home, I see Lauren and Erin at the coffee shop and sit with them for a while, before going off and taking photos of ourselves with funny hats in City Beach.
It's 1:38 pm I have to leave Lauren and Erin for Ben is coming soon, he does not like me. I see Sarah at the fountain, alone, I go to talk to her for a while, Charlie is also there, I tell him I love him, he threatens to get people to kill me, I take no notice, he goes to a North Shore private school, nothing to be scared of at all. Sarah and I talk for a while, her friend who she is waiting for comes, I leave them be.
It's 2:04 pm I'm entering Waitara Macdonalds to get myself a chocolate shake, I say hello to a few collegues and then quiet;y leave, seeing Anthony Finn briefly, he does not notice me. I am walking to Waitara train station, feel it is pointless to pay for a ticket.
It's 2:24 pm  I am exiting the train at Wahroonga train station, reach into my bag and pull out my iPod, it gives me company on the walk home.
It's 3:12 pm, I'm entering my house, it is silent, I am the only one home. I turn on the computer, I have several hours before I need to be anywhere.
It's 5:36 pm, my father walks through the door, and tells me to get ready, I still have one-and-a-half hours before I need to be anywhere.
It's 6:17 pm, I am ready to go and am finishing dinner.
It is 6:36 pm, I am getting in the car with my father heading off to the 16th.
It's 7:04 pm, I am exiting the car and walk over to the community hall. I give Monica a hug and wish her a happy birthday, I then place my present in the pile she has already accumulated.
It's 11:06 pm, the night has passed in a blur of alchohol and hooking up, I strangley remember it all. I look around a girl has almost fallen asleep on me, she asks my name I reply then ask for hers. Her name is Brooke, the matter ends.

The day was interesting for me, but i doubt many of you would find it that exciting, and for that I apologise, and don't worry gentle reader, the old reviews and sarcastic comments will be back up on Spice of Life soon so just hang in there.

Off to go attach a Gun that shoots Radioactive Sharks onto Boris..

This Is DJ Prodigal back with yet another post, that's got to be what 4, Amazing I know. Once again apologising for my lack of posts and once again telling you all I will attempt to post on a more regular bassi

Lets start off with the formalities and for the sake of following tradition or otherwise "Conform" towards the structure.

Musical Recommendation: "Collapse The Light Into Earth" by Porcupine Tree The album is In Absetia. This song would be best downloaded as youtube has terrible quality and versions of it.So refer back to previous posts by me and use those steps to get this song.

Now this post is dedicated to a certain harddrive which has brought me so much happiness. Recently the majority of the Dj's have decided to pass around this harddrive with music and movies and what not.

The best thing about this harddrive isn't the amount of free stuff on it but preferably the variety of music and shows i have been introduced to , with an emphasis on the music. I'm not claiming for this to be a purely original idea but would just like to talk about the variety of music on this harddrive and the diversity it has brought to my Itunes.

As I'm sure you have noticed most of the Djs here have a unique taste in music, ranging between metal/techno to opera and it sure makes interesting listening. A certain band I'd like for you to all check out is "The Airborne Toxic Event". Not only does this harddrive represent the variety of music in the world, and yes I am going to totally blow this out of proportion, but much more importantly it allows us to gain access to music without using money or bandwidth which is arguably money.

This post is aimed at nothing specific but I urge for all listeners to try this, and as from what I understand all of the listeners know us quite, quite well join this circle of music and attempt to contribute to this already wonderful harddrive.

This is Dj Prodigal managing to talk about nothing 5 or so paragraphs.

SUN BROADCAST_1 [HERE COMES THE SUN... DO NN DO DOO]

Whats happening Listners, this is DJ Sunrise comin' at cha
Guest DJ'ing in this fine establishment while taking a "break" from the accusing eyes surrounding my usual blog: http://thepainsofpwnage.blogspot.com/

So, while Im here. Let me just say, its a fine thing, what we have got here.
Even in an apperent "slow period" the fans of NSR are still given a good dose of bloggy goodness each week... or there abouts

So its on this note that I bring you my own addition to this long line of greatness:
an original post by Sean Madden.
Something that for one reason or another doesnt come along too often these days. so just sit back, relax and let me try to do a legitimate post... god knows its been a while... do I still even know how?

Wellsies, tonight, my beef is aimed at one word. One concept:
Conformity.
Conformity is ladies and gentlemen one of the 7 over used words of the 21st century. (dont ask me for all 7, its just a good round even number)

People are always using this magic concept as a basis not to do something, or to do something.
And occasionly its even used as an insult. I hate it when this happens, it sounds like: "Damn you, you suck for having a human urge to connect with the rest of society"

Not only this, but the word "conformist" just uttered immediately makes one sound like a douchebag. And thats a fact. Stop to think, "who do I know that uses this as an insult or really uses this at all?"
I think you'll find that its all the tools, emos and potheads that you know... considering the readers of this blog are High schooler's... thats alot of people.

Thats really all I got. You see, even though I blog alot, I am yet to perfect the art of drawing attention and talking a lot about something I dont have a lot of points on... hopefully this will improve over time, though it has been a year.

Not a long post, yes, but im on a bit of a deadline you see.
Soo, DJ Sunrise oot!

Gooood merry morn fine readers, its DJ Jwol ridin' boris into ya' brains.....

Recommended listening: All Apologies by Nirvana

Well I haven't actually got that much to post about so how a few apologies, yeah let's go with that.

My fellow DJ's Trigon and Drop-Doctor, have recently posted rather meh-worthy posts. Drop-Doctors post didn't follow the layout that we so strictly adhere to but otherwise was a slightly below standard post. Trigon has posted a "caption contest" using a photo that has no action, and is just a photo of himself in a pirate hat. Trigon we are not 4 years old and will not laugh, unless Needles posts a caption, then maybe we will, please refrain from posting crap again. Thankyou.

Short post but hey whatever, by the way, there are still a few positions open here at Office so why dont you apply today!

Ferrari for $15,704,746.48… is it worth it?

Good evening all..

Listening music: Danger Zone, Kenny Loggins

At Maranello, the home place of the prancing horse, a 1957 Ferrari 250 TR sold for 15 million dollars. This is now the most expensive car to be sold in an auction. Who could blame it, its one of the most beautiful cars ever seen by man. The red and black paint job screams Darth Maul in a classical and elegant way. The sound of the 300 bhp (It was a lot back then) V12 that revved to a glorious 7,200 rpm would be enough to make you and your passenger hit the non-existent roof. But is it worth the 15 million and 40 cents price tag?

The bean counter in you is screaming at the top of his lungs. NO!!!!! This is an overly expensive trophy piece. There are many better cars out there for a tenth of the money needed for this hunk of metal. “When will you ever take it out?” will be a question running through the heads of everyone hoping to buy the Italian steed. This precious handmade masterpiece will eventually rust in your garage never to be heard again.

But on those occasional days where the sun is bright, the sky is blue and the road is clear, this 52-year-old beauty will be roaring up a mountain road with the only sound heard is the bellowing V12. This is all the reason you need.

STATIC-BREAKER

Good evening dear readers, its DJ's Jwol and Needles jabbin' and riding boris into ya brains...

Well the fountain of posts, with much mourning over here at Office, has started to dry up...

so we are in a little bit of a pickle here and we need a new batch of DJs or at least guest-bloggers to help us out, because the ones that we prepared earlier seem to have lost ambition, and flavour...

Yes readers, the future of NSR is in YOUR hands, what you choose to do with it is entirely up to you. If you feel that you need to get your voice heard and would like to join us down here at Office, you can contact either of us,

NSR BROADCAST_11 [ BACK ]

Good Afternoon, fantastic followers, this is DJ Needles burning through and keeping it true, the looong weekend is fading into the past and i hope you have enjoyed it

Recommended Listening: The Cure (again, i know, but this time actually go listen to them)

As all of you readers should know, this weekend was a very special weekend for me, if you want to know what happened a quick scroll down and brief look over DJ Jwol's post should bring you up-to-date.
Now, a few of you have been asking me for the details into my night, and through my universal refusal to divulge you in the doings i seemed to have 'dissapointed' a few of you...
I'll just tell you what i say to everyone else, it was brilliant, bad luck if you want more info...
and if you are actually dissapointed by that, post a comment below so i can not care about it.

Well, with lack of posting from certain DJ's recently i've considered starting up a new thread of broadcasts within NSR, comprising of sections from guest DJ's, through this i hope to keep a constant flow of material throught the pages of NSR. Anyone could be a guest DJ, you could ask to post or a DJ might ask you, you could post about whatever you wanted to. This might not go ahead though...

tomorrow see's the beginning of Vietnam Week at Barker, mufty day on Thursday, don't forget or you'll be rather embarassed...

There's that Christian Studies assesment due in sometime, i really have no idea when. Once we've handed this in the total marks from assignments adds up to a grand total of 85% of our yearly mark for Christian Studies...

State of Origin kiddies got to stay at home for 7 days after coming home, as Swine Flu precations, one of the players from the night has been confirmed with the virus, so the boom's gonna be soon. Those 'cheap' white masks that we'll be wearing soon currently cost just below $5.00, which is a massive rip, i really don't like how people are making profit from our initial panic attacks, it just increases the hysteria...

not much else to go on about now,
DJ Needles joyfully signing out, everything's okay...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things have changed for me, and that's okay
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say
Things have changed for me, and that's okay

SOL BROADCAST_06 [ OVER-VIEW ]

Good merry morning readers, It's DJ Jwol comin' atcha with a mighty fine hello and then a social update.

ңє׀ґδ

Hardly looks like a hello but whatever.

Recommended listening: Happy Birthday  by The Birthday Massacre

Now to the social update.
Unless you have been living under a soundproof, self sustaining rock on Mars, then you will know that something happened with Needles last night. This was, of course, his first date. The girl who he is now going out with just so happens to be the girl he liked in Primary school, proof that there are such things as happy endings after all. What with the ever growing reach of the Swine Flu literally at our doorstep, it is moments like these that remind us of the strength of the human spirit. I cannot go into any intimate details and would not go into said details even if I could, because you know they are...well intimate and if Needles wants to share, then he will, when he posts.

Onto slightly related matters, our good friend "Timotei" has finally found himself a girlfriend and has (I hope) given up on another girl that was frankly a bitch to him when she got bored. I hope that "Timotei" and his new girl last for at least several months, because he is so much better when he is happy.

Segwaying into an update about myself, the girl who I am "madly in love with" to quote several people, now says that she doesn't want to see me anymore and is sick of the way that I make her feel. I'm trying to fix things I really am, but I'm unsure as to how I go about fixing this. As pathetic as it sounds, she may be able to easily forget about me but I cannot let go of her just yet, is that so selfish?

Now to matters even a little more depressing (Hey, I said this was a social update, both good and bad) our good friend "Strykun" may have finally given up on the girl he has been chasing for a few months now, this is, as I have been told, a mutual agreement that they are both sick of the way the other makes them feel. Sorry to end on such a sad note, I promise that by the time of the next post, things will be looking better in all our girl lives.

Off to go ride Boris into battle

TRT BROADCAST_06 [ VALKYRIE ]

Trigon and Needles, coming at you with more strategy game updates. Yes, it's another post about exactly the same thing. Get over it. If you don't care go read something else. No-one is forcing you to read this.

Recommended listening:
Monty Python. Hilarious.

Well, I've played 4 games now. The first main tweak was the elimination of being able to fire more than 40 missile counters at 800 damage each.

We have come to the conclusion that the game is big ships shooting the crap out of each other with the occasional smaller ship being utterly obliterated by a stray shot. It is unbalanced and not that fun.

So we have two options. Option one: Add some weapons, make movement easier, reduce the scale and go for a bigship dominated game with very few smaller ships and almost no fighters/bombers.

Option two: Reduce the bigships domination, create more tactical opportunity and fighter/bomber actions. I've actually played 3 of my 4 games with the largest ship being a destroyer (small in the scheme of things), and it was fun and it worked.

I'm leaning towards the second option, because it means that later we can re-add the bigger ship numbers for large-scale conflicts. I'd like opinions on this.

Needles and I are going to reserve final judgement on this because the game is rather difficult to play when all of the weapons are represented by upside-down fighter or bomber counters. You don't know what they are, you don't know what damage they do. We should get a game or two in before Needles leaves with the damage counters that I am going to go and do now.

Trigon, out.

DJ Needles, sliding in here for my input into Valkyrie, if you want to shout "That's Adorable!", you'll just have to wait...

Recommended Listening: Kraftwerk

I've only played one game of Valkyrie so far, but from what i have seen it needs a big rethink in order to become a playable and enjoyable game.

As Trigon said there really is a big flaw in the game with big-ships and little-ships pretty much fighting two different battles,

to get rid of this i would like to get rid of larger ships, so the game concentrates around small squadrons of fighters/bombers and slightly larger craft. the battlefield should also have a greatly reduce size, with a starting separating distance of 30-40cm, combined with an increase in health this would lead to a more tactical game where ships are really up close to each-other, maybe fighting over objectives.

Smaller ships should also be able to take down larger ships through destroying vital structures such as engines, shield-generators, etc.

So we're working on these changes and hopefully we'll be able to go through more test games trying out some new rules fairly soon.

DJ Needles, signing out, i should be posting tonight as well, don't really know what to post about though, so if you have an idea either post a comment or chuck something into the Talk-box...

SOL BROADCAST_05 [ UN-DELETED ]

Goood morning listeners/readers... whatever

It's DJ Jwol comin' atcha with a fine hello

Ħęļľǿ

DJ Jwol signing out

Gone!

Well apparently that isn't good enough, and I need to actually post about something or other. So let’s go with a Review of Kung Fu Panda, a musical recommendation, then a cynical comment at the end, with leaving most questions un-answered. They will only be in the order you read them in.

Recommended listening: It is, as it was by The Red Paintings

Well, when I first bought my Xbox 360 it came with two games, these being; Kung Fu Panda and Lego: Indiana Jones, the former being a raucous good time, and honestly one of the best movie-games that I have ever played. It is predominantly a plat-former aimed at little kids, so the difficulty isn't particularly hard, except when the quick time events sneak up on you, The plot follows the same plot as the movie, but I can't really be bothered to tell you it so heres what Wikipedia says about it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kung_Fu_Panda

Well that was enlightening.

So imagine that move except you control Po most of the time and the other masters later on, which by the way is awesome. The controls are standard plat-forming for the Xbox controls, if you don't know them, then you don't have an Xbox and it most likely doesn’t matter. The fighting is really good and is always ultra responsive and linking up combos when fighting groups of enemies feels very rewarding, much like in Ninja Gaiden. The multiplayer is also very fun with the controls being adjusted slightly for a 2d plane, much like in Super Smash Bros. In fact the Multiplayer is pretty much SSB but with Kung Fu Panda characters, so ninja shadow wolves and such=very fun.

All in all I really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it, if only that you hire it out.

Well this has been fun, sorry about the last post, I'm fixing things, just trying to keep certain people out of my business, because they are only making it worse, funny thing is, they won't read this and it doesn’t matter, I'm confronting them soon.

Off to go cut off a bears arms and replace them with chainsaws and name him Boris.

NSR BROADCAST_10 [ THE CRUNCH ]

DJ Needles starting up right now, i hope you kids are all hopped up and ready to go now because the looong weekend has powered it's way through and is just beginning.

recommended listening: Pictures of You - The Cure

i hope you've all got something to do, and yes sitting home playing TF2 for three days straight does count in my books. This is one good reason to stay as a part of the British Empire, long weekends, if we became a republic we'd have to come up with new names for them and we'd probably end up with vegimite/Kevin Rudd/Beer monday or something gay like that, so you know, as long as we stay 'British' we keep our dignity.

Well, i have something on each day this weekend and next, but i won't go into detail cause that would just bore you. So instead i'm here to talk to you about, well... whatever comes to my mind

Our first batch of Grange Leaders came back today, dutily mortified from the little 'uns but still thankful for the oppertunity to get away from it all...
DJ Jwol was one of these leaders, so you know, yay...

Not much else has happened this week really, the HD is going around (should be posted about by a DJ soon), Alex Newman and Alex Campbell broke up, more Exam results are coming back, general life happenings and such...

Ooh, and apparently I am "like the entire freaking blog my friend", so please do some more posting DJ's, this is meant to be a 'community' effort...

Deimos has had a name change to Valkyrie, after a discovery that Deimos Rising is apparently the name of a mac video game, the beta rules have been set, i'm helping DJ Trigon with preliminary games testing this weekend, it's all coming together very nicely

well, i'm sorry for the lack of post and structure, but i'm just quite nervous about tomorrow...

This is DJ Neeldes signing out, ready to go now...

gone
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well the kids are all hopped up and ready to go
They're ready to go now
They've got their surfboards
And they're going to the discotheque a go go
But she just couldn't stay
She had to break away
Well New York City really has it all
Oh yeah, oh yeah
