Good evening, faithful NSR fans this is DJ Prodigal presenting the first broadcast of hopefully many titled,
Music and Anything Even Vaugley Related or MAVR
Guess what i'm going to be writing about
Recommended Listening:The Red Paintings song ,Sing, Slow but a bit different.
The internet has become a gold mine for stealing from the industry, especially here in Australia where the government seems to be quite ‘laxed on prosecuting those who do this, but this is no new news. Recently i have found that an alarming amount of people still use “limewire” to download specific files, now don’t get me wrong I personally don’t support illegal downloading of anykind and find it majorly detracts from what could be seen as the magic of music and movies or other programs, not to mention it certainly doesn’t help the economy. With all that said I still feel I need to address the issue of using "limewire" , I see quite a few significant problems with "limewire" so I will address them in order of priorities along with simple and much more effective methods that won’t have you explaining why your computer no longer turns on and has several illegal videos or photos with song labels.
Issue:
My largest issue with “Limewire” is whenever you attempt to download something there are several million files that come up that appear and no matter how legitement there is still no possible way of seeing if these files are what they appear to be until they are fully or even partially downloaded on to your hard drive. So the issue is the ineffectiveness of this method you could spend 4 or 5 attempts to download a single song not only is this time consuming, especially if your attempting to download an entire album or something along the same lines, but theoretically makes you 5 times more liable if found with such files, because they are still most likely songs or other copyright property justnot the one you were looking for, that is the outcome if you are lucky, if you are not and you have stumbled upon a file on limewire that has such detrimental effects on your computer because it turns out the file isn’t “X-men Origins” but instead the file contents would include one or many viruses. So downloading off limewire in this sense can actually set you back a few hundred dollars to then get your computer repaired, because let’s face it if you were downloading off limewire you don’t know how to fix your computer.Solution:The solution to this problem is quite simple, and if you are one of those people trying to download singular songs this would be the most effective method for you.
Step1: Open your web browser, if its internet explorer I applaud you for surviving on the internet for this long without your entire OS if you will “asploding”
Step2:Type in the Html address, http://www.playlist.com/ (Yes these steps are ridiculously simple and slow)
Step3: Once at the websites home page you will see a search bar simply write in the song you are looking for with or without artist and press the novelty sized search button.
Step4: You will now see a list of songs all neatly organised you can listen to the song off the internet by pressing play, this is a good way to check if it is the correct file you are looking for. But to download the song you will see under the title of the song and artist, “visit site” click that.
Step5: From here you will see a bluish bar at the top of the screen with such text as “Search result location” under that should be the text “Located at” and a website copy and paste that text into your search bar, 90% of the time after doing this and pressing the enter button you will see an audio player on an otherwise empty page, press file>save page as>Press enter and the song will be downloaded at lightning speed to your hard drive.
Step6: If you unfortunately come across something other than an audio player on a blank page you will need to go back to step 4 and choose a different link, although this may seem slower then Limewire the download is generally faster and never contains anything other than the music you searched for, ruling out unpleasant surprises.
Not so interesting piece of information while I was running through this on my computer to make sure I got all the steps down to a painful amount of accuracy I used “Mad world” Cover by The Red Paintings, I heavily suggest you check this song out, one of the best covers I’ve ever seen.
I will cover movies in my next issue and solution.
This is Dj Prodigal, soon to return.
